I have recently purchased a 1973 JH and the PO included a canvas top, frame and hardware. I plan to install it but I need some pictures of how the top is fastened to the bow of the frame, pics of the the lever mechanism on the frame, pics of velcro inside the cockpit and door both door frames. Also, it looks like there are stud hole where I need to install snaps on the inside of the top that attach inside the cockpit. Any pictures will help since I do not know anyone here who has a JH. Do you know the manufacturer? Contact the company that made it and ask for a copy of instructions. They could just email it to you. There is also this for sale on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/JENSEN-HEALEY-Roadster-Convertible-Top-Installation-Instructions-/401281759799?fits=Make%3AJensen%7CModel%3AHealey&hash=item5d6e41ba37:g:hTgAAOSwMVdYHTql&vxp=mtr Perhaps a JH owner has some they could forward to you? Hi Steve, I live in Eastanollee, Georgia, (near Toccoa) so am not too far from you. You are more than welcome to come and take a look at mine although it is an el cheapo eBay vinyl top. I have installed two JH tops before and more recently put a Robin's canvas top on a friends MG Midget and would be more than happy to give you a hand. Andy

Andy: I am in Greenville, NC not SC. Too far to travel, about 4.5 hrs. I think the top is canvas from Carribou because I have a receipt from PO. I believe they are out of business. I just really need some pictures of how the top attaches to the front of the frame and of the latching hardware on the frame and the receiving hardware on top of the header on the windshield. I have new hardware from PO. Also, any pics of the inner cockpit where I need to attach the velcro so that the velcro on the top has something to attach to on the body. Steve

The top basically just wraps around the frame and is held in place with contact adhesive. the trick is to get it tight enough to where it looks nice and doesn't flap around but not so tight that you have to fight to close it. There is some adjustment up and down where the frame attaches behind the door post. I would suggest starting about mid way so you can tighten or loosen a little as a final adjustment. Seem to have to send these pictures one at a time on this site so stand by. Attachment: SAM_0266.jpg (Downloaded 129 times)

Andy, can post or send me a few more pictures. I need to see more pics of the cockpit because I need to see where to attach the metal pieces that have the velcro attached. Also can you take a pic of the underside of the bar about how it attaches to the to the studs on each side of the trunk near the cockpit. When I put the bar through the canvas top sleeve, I think a section of the canvas needs to be cut so the bar can slide under the chrome stud. If you want to send me an email or directly to my phone, my contact info is: sdkoska@gmail.com or 803-230-6328. Steve
