Hopefully, this will make your installation easier & faster. First, we assume you have cleaned the shoes and put a VERY light smearing of brake grease on the 2 pins, the washers, and the parts that slide on the metal. The first picture shows the tools necessary; the special brake shoe pliers are not necessary(unless you like using them), but are used to REMOVE the shoes). Basically, the needle nosed plier and a #0 round screw driver are all that I need.[img][/img] Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg (Downloaded 73 times)

Start with the rear/trailing shoe. Slip it onto the emergency brake tab and into the slot on the wheel cylinder piston. Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg1.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)

Take the spring shown(the one that goes behind the toothed adjuster) as pictured. I would advise that you spread the lower toothed adjuster a bit for now; later, you'll close that before putting on the final spring.[img][/img] Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg3.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)

Now snag the corresponding hole with the other end of the spring on the rear shoe, and pull the front/leading shoe into its wheel cylinder piston slot.[img][/img] Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg5.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)

Take the upper spring and first place an end into the rear shoe hole BEHIND the shoe. Then place the other end into the corresponding hole of the front shoe.[img][/img] Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg7.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)

Before installing the final spring(here's where the small rounded screwdriver is used), lift up the upper toothed adjuster and push the lower adjuster all the way in(i.e. make the diameter for the shoes as small as possible)[img][/img] Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg11.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)

Now use the screwdriver over the other end of the spring and "lever" it into the hole ABOVE the spring already there.[img][/img] Attachment: J-H Lockheed brake shoes installation.jpg13.jpg (Downloaded 71 times)
