Does a larger spare tire fit up under the car in the original space? I looked at a car with 205 15” wheels and tires and it has no spare. Will a bigger 15” spare fit under the car, or the trunk? Thanks Mark

Mark, Why would you need a bigger spare if it's only purpose is to get the car to a tire repair shop and a 185 will work just fine for that and takes up a less space. I don't even carry a space just a can of Fix-a-Flat and a AAA card.

That is fine day to day, but on the weekends on the way to a car show out of town and you get a sidewall puncture you’re gong to spend the weekend in a motel somewhere. The car I was looking at didn’t have the spare so I was wondering if I had to stick with an original size spare or not.

Mark, As I pointed out an original works fine a wider tire may require some modification to get it to fit and it could also narrow the angle of departure which could be a problem on driveways and dips. Also just because you're out of town I don't think it's going to take a couple of days to get a flat fixed, I think most tire shops can have you back on the road in a couple of hours.
