Does anyone have a suggestion on a cheap wheel, perferably steel, I can use for a spare. I've got the original wheels but I don't want to hang one under the car as a spare and let it get slimed up. Any suggestions?

a steel wheel from an mg midget would work as far as diameter and bolt pattern, not sure about the offset though. Mitch Ware - #19670

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it would never be used and if so for a very short distance. I'll check out the offset. George

I replaced to OEM rims with four Superlites on #15851. For a spare, I used one of the OEM rims wrapped carefully in a large heavy duty black trash bag. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars of an invisible, and hopefully never used, spare. This has kept it clean and out of sight. http://jhppg.com/gallery/74-Jensen-Healey-15851

I was hesitant to wrap it, afraid that moisture might get in. But unless I accidently get caught in the rain, this car sees no bad weather, this may be the easiest fix.

I imagine that plastic bag will find the hot exhaust someday. Just put the wheel in there and forget about it. It's supposed to get dirty. If you actually need it you certainly won't care. Mine has the original tire on it! I had it out only once to fix some rust spots. How will you check the air if it's in a plastic bag? Some people put spare parts, fuel pumps and the like, inside the spare wheel, keeps the boot clear for other uses. May all your Jensen problems be like this one, Kurt

When using a spare that’s different from the rest of the wheels, be sure to carry the correct lug nuts for the spare. The nuts for the factory alloys have a flat shoulder to seat flat on the wheel center section face. Steel wheels usually need a conical shouldered lug. The Superlites on my car have hard steel inserts and use conical shouldered lugs. I still have the factory spare so I need to carry factory lugs to go with it. PC.

Thanks for the reminder. I've got Chromodoras on mine which has the same lug nut as your Superlights.
