When I purchased 19299 a few years ago, it came with the remnants of the soft top, and the factory removable hard top. I never use the hard top and it is really something I have to find a place to store, so I'm looking for a new home for it. I'm about 300 miles north of San Francisco.

It would have to be shipped and probably via common carrier. It's big and bulky enough that it wouldn't be very cheap to ship I'm afraid. Maybe there is somebody coming your way with an empty truck ;-)

jcdean, are you interested enough that I should try to get measurements and weight and make some calls to find out what shipping would be? You can drop me an e-mail directly at dthewlis@dcta.com. Dave Thewlis

Curious if the hardtop sold or is still around.

It is still here. I'd call it in fair condition but by no means new, and needs some tlc. If you are interested I could post a pic or two; it's hanging in my garage currently.

I have one as well, sounds like about the same condition. Just another option for you in a different part of the country (WI vs CA) if it makes a difference. It's just sitting in my garage attic, I don't ever intend to use it.

Hello, Answerman; we seem to be trading quite a few messages this week. Can you tell me more about the condition of your top, and/or manage a few attic snapshots? Thanks, Kevin

Here are (I hope) three pics of the top I have. As you can see it definitely needs some cleanup work on the metal and the edges; it's in the same condition as when I got it in 2007 as I haven't used it. FYI I'm in zip code 95519. Apparently I can only post one image at a time. Dave Attachment: IMG_0753.jpg (Downloaded 200 times)

To be honest, Dave's top is in better shape than mine is from what I'm seeing in the pics. I won't be able to get up to take pics of it for a couple of days, but I can tell you that the inside of mine is pretty discolored, as is the rear window. I believe the weatherstripping could use a little help too. Just to be clear... it's definitely not in the greatest shape, I would rate it as fair condition. The only reason I brought it up was the chance that I might be closer to you than CA (to save on shipping or transport).

I have a very nice hardtop in Riverside, CA that has a good bottom shield that I removed when I was cleaning. It is in decent shape and just needs to be regaled to the bottom side of the hardtop.. I do not plan on using it in my restoration. Call me if you are interested and I will send you detailed pics. It is very clean with no exterior or interior damage. srq2002 What is your location? I have a hardtop available in the NorthEast, if it makes your drive any shorter.

This is an interesting subject, it makes me wonder how many guys have a hardtop parked permanently in their garages. I think a lot of guys(like me)when they first got their Jensen-Healeys wanted the hardtop not necessarily because they were going to use it but rather it was an extra cost accessory when new. My hardtop which is aftermarket(Snug Top)was given to me. I installed it and drove it around for a while, my thinking was if I like it I'll find a factory top. Verdict-it was nice but I like driving with the top down(I don't even have my soft top on the car)so into the garage it went, it's still there.

It is July in Texas. There is nothing better than an early morning run with that top down. It makes all the work learning how to fix what breaks worth it.
