My car is severly toed out. I realize that the whole front suspension should be gone through but where should I start. Would ball joint replacement be the first logical step or tie rods?

Normal wear on the bushings and pivot pionts shouldn't cause a dramatic change in the toe measurements. I would check all parts for failure and adjust the toe to spec. Kurt
