hi, When I have my lights on, one of the rear lights starts flashing when I switch on the indicator for that side. Maybe it is something to do with the earth, or any ideas? thanks

Sounds like proper behavior for a blinker to me! :) How about some more specifics...which light is flashing? (I assume that it isn't the blinker...or the blinker doesn't flash at al?)

when I switch the headlights on, the rear light comes on OK. if i then switch on the indicator (flasher) for one side, the rear light that is already on starts flashing along-side the indicator light (which is flashing correctly) thanks

Sounds like a bad ground (earth) for the tail light. In the JH, the ground current runs through the light housing to the chassis. Try cleaning the spring prongs on all the rear sockets, both sides. With luck, this will take care of the problem.
