Some of you may have already done so, but replacing our antiquated bimetallic voltage stabilizer with a solid state electronic one is inexpensive and worth it, now that our cars are over 40 years old.(I have seen many of them "bad"( usually from the poor contact between the sheet metal screw and the casing) Make one yourself or shop around, but MOSS has them at a very reasonable price. https://mossmotors.com/solid-state-voltage-stabilizer-negative-ground happy "T"-Day, bruce |

It's up under the dash, mounted between the FUEL & TEMP gauges, with a #2 cross-point(pozdriv) sheet metal screw. This is the metal backing "plate" holding all your gauges in place. If you're still spry and nimble, you can get to it by slithering upside down under the steering wheel and with dexterity (voluminous levels of profanity may be surging by now) get at the screw after removing the 2 spade connectors.Better yet, any small child may welcome this as a challenge if you tempt them with some candy! |
