Dear Forum Users I am looking for a replacement pump for the rear screen wipe/wash on my GT. The pump is made by Tudor but there is no serial number visible. The washer bottle is the square type with the pump clipped onto a protruding cap on the bottom right hand side. You can see it on the far right of image 6 at this link (http://studio434.co.uk/collection_images.php?id=156&image=1). Lovely looking GT, by the way! It is not the same as the standard Healey washer bottle, which has rounded off corners and where the pump is mounted on the top filler cap. I have googled far and wide and can't find anything remotely similar. Anybody know an alternative part number? Tudor was a pretty ubiquitous oem/aftermarket brand in the 60s and 70s and there must be another, more common, vehicle to which this washer bottle was fitted... Many thanks in advance. Best wishes, Nigel |

Hi Nigel, I also had the same issue and ended up getting this one from Merlin - it's not the same but pretty close. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/windscreen-washer-bottle-pump-ww-kit-bottle |

Check out Europa Specialist Spares. They stock a lot of brightwork, mirrors, lights... and windscreen washers... as used on many vintage British cars. Website: http://www.europaspares.com/ Washer stuff: http://www.europaspares.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=washer You may have to browse for it, and not everything is shown on the website. If you don't see what you need, contact them and ask. Good Luck |

I think I've got as close as I'm going to get. This bottle / pump assembly (http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-215822ALT) was used in post 1980 Minis, the Rover SD1 and various Triumphs. The pump is riveted to the top of the bottle, rather than being mounted on the side, but the bottle is the same dimensions as the original (12.5mm x 8.5mm x 16.5mm) and should fit on the same bracket. I ended up buying a similar sized ACP replacement for the rear washer bottle / pump in my GT and had to do a lot of fettling to make it fit. Coincidentally, I think Lotus used the same size washer bottle on the 1970s Elite and on the Eclat, based on some spares that LotusBits had in stock. I think the original must have been a low volume aftermarket Tudor accessory as I haven't even seen a picture of it anywhere on the web. I suspect supplies of this washer bottle ran out at some point during the GT production run, and Jensen reverted to using up stocks of the taller Trico washer bottle as used in the JH, hence the existence of the two different types of washer bottle in the GT parts book. |
