I can't see in the dark. I'd like to replace my current headlights with some Sylvania Silverstar or other 'high performance' light. Does anybody know a cross reference for the JH sealed beam headlight? Any recommendations on a bright, quality replacement? Also, does anybody have a wiring diagram to add relay into the circuit? Thanks in advance, Speedy Mitch

Jim @ Delta sells an uprated headlight. I have them in my project car, but not in my driver yet.

Don't know how it is in the States, but here in Europe you get 7" replacements that accept standard H4 bulbs in virtually any car parts shop. Then you can choose any bulb you like, I like Osram Nightbreaker. As for the relay set: Headlight relay kits are usually equipped with H4 type male and female connectors, so it is hard to make a mistake. You will have to cut and extend a few leads, though. For the replay circuit, I refered to the following with good success. http://home.comcast.net/~jrkengr2/html/headlight_relays.html A very informative site. I bought some relays from JC Whitney. My installation looks very similar. Be sure to add the in-line fuse to the power feed of the relays. The control feed of the relays is taken off the existing power feed from the headlight switch. One might be tempted to add a smaller amp fuse to the control side of the relay to further limit the current at the headlight switch but at this time I do not know what current is required for the relays to activate.

Ordinary automotive relays have a coil resistance of appr. 90 ohms, meaning that they draw less than 150mA from the control circuit. You have nothing to worry about. Installing a smaller fuse will NOT cause the circuit to draw less current, btw. -- Joachim

The possible extra fuse was for protection from a potential short circuit in the control wires coming from the headlight switch. If sufficient care is taken this may not ever be a concern. It's simply an additional protection.

Just about ANY standard 7" housing+bulb or sealed beam headlight will work. I installed a pair of (relatively) inexpensive Sylvania Silverstar headlights from a Jeep Wrangler (2006 TJ). Headlight relay kits are available from Moss Motors and Victoria British come witn istructions and simp!e to install. I think they are the same part number for all 2 headlight systems.
