My ignition key is finding it difficult to locate the tumblers.
Has anybody out there replaced the ignition on the column.  I looked and can not find any reference to this using search?
This is the original key, so perhaps the key is worn out.  Have other cars with 200 k and original key and no problem.
Thanks

I can actually start mine with anything that will twist the tumbler.  Mine is that worn out.

It's a bit of a pain to remove/replace. The mounting bolts are an anti-theft variety, so you will need drill the heads and extract. Access is not real good in this area. When I replaced mine, I had a replacement switch to go back in and found it easier to cut the old switch with a hack saw on the collar. I recommend using stainless allen head bolts as a replacement.

I used a left handed drill bit with my drill in reverse to drill them out. Once the bit got into the screws, they just backed right out without having to use an ez-out.

I used a dremel and cut a groove in the bolt and then it came out rather easily and was able to reuse it. Not much work either.
