I'm replacing the TR6 175CDs on my car with the proper JH carbs. There are many minor differences in the carbs. One is the plug in the bottom of the float bowl. The used JH carbs I bought and am rebuilding have a plastic plug with o-ring that just snaps into place. The TR6 carbs have a brass unit that actually screws into the body of the carb. The literature I've looked at shows one or the other. Is there a preference? |

The plastic plug with "O" ring is the later style; the brass plug with the screw was earlier(but NOT on any J-Hs) which by turning in or out would adjust the needle/gas mixture. The earlier ones had a fixed needle that would not move, whereas the later style uses a 1/8" allen wrench to move the needle up & down for the mixture |

Well, I certainly don't need more the one way to adjust the mixture. Plastic it is. Thank you! |

Pokeyjoe, Make sure you replace the O-rings on the plastic plug. They can start leaking when they get old, very bad. |
