Is it necessary to hook up the choke cable to Dell 40,45s to start the car? Does it make it easier for cold starts? I have noticed at shows I have attended, that some car are hooked up and some are not. I would have to order the support bracket(part#s 19&20), and was wondering if it is really needed? Thanks, PK |

Hey Paul, I have the choke hooked up on my car and it does seem to help it start but it does not stay on long at all, I pump the pedal about 5 times before starting to push gas into the carbs as well, that wont work with Strombergs. I would say try it without and if you have trouble then get it. Brett |

Thanks Brett. I'll give it a go without, so that I have a reference point. |

I never have to use the choke. I agree you have to pump it first and she seems to fire up everytime. |

I have not had too much trouble starting Ms. Jensen here, temps down to ~35F, and I haven't connected the starter devices. If it is any colder, I don't drive her... Of course I use the accelerator pump trick to prime the engine. -- Joachim |
