As I am in the process of completely restoring my Jensen Healey, I am anxious to start putting new and refurbished parts together as the tear down continues. My first question is concerning proper mounting of the 45 mm Dellortos to the intake manifold. I was provided a lock nut, washer, and thackey washer for each of the studs; is the proper installation carb, washer, thackey washer, lock nut, or carb, thackey washer, washer, lock nut? My second question concerns the distributor. I purchased a fully refurbished UK distributor with no vacum advance; I am assuming that I do not need to do any further modifications - does anyone know anything to the contrary? Thanks, Mike |

I put the washer under the locknut. A slight improvement would be to use the Thackery washers below and the rubber spacers and cup washers on top so you have the benefits of the vibration dampening on top without having to replace the rubber below often (fuel drippings tend to ruin the rubber). The distributor will just plug in, assuming it's a Lotus unit and has the correct advance weights inside. |

http://www.rdent.com/pages/carblink.html has a graphic under Weber/Dellorto Soft mount hardware that might be helpful in regards to your mounting question. |
