Are there any block drains? I want to give it a good flushing before I fill it up. Have a nice day Steve

While the factory's parts list drawings for the early and late blocks show a drain valve on the engine's left side, neither my car's engine (#6835) nor my spare (#9384) has a drain valve or even a hole for one.

I got it up in the air and can see what appears to be a big hex plug on the aft left side of the block. It is pretty hard to get at because the headers are right there. I haven't figured how to get it out. It may not be worth the hassle. This pic taken from under left wheel well. Have a nice day Steve Attachment: jhblockdrain.jpg (Downloaded 65 times)

You can do pretty well removing your tstat and using compressed air with a rag to blow water from the block. Then, keep flushing with water from the hose and you'll get it all out and clean. Ron
