My heater fan seems to have called it a day, so I need to replace - or at least service - it. Can it be removed without tearing out the dash, and if so, how? My small experiments last night didn't give any definitive answers. There are 4 bolts holding the heater box to the top of the firewall, and it looks as if it could be possible to slide the heater box into the passenger foot well (glove box removed), has anyone tried this?

The heater blower motor cannt be removed without removing the whole heater unit. Refer to: http://www.theymightberacing.com/Projects/FrameOff/JH74G/HeaterAssemblyRestoration.aspx Jody
