I need some assorted parts to finish up the JH. The motor is out to Judson as of this week for some TLC, and while at it I need to replace some things for peace of mind. *Steering shaft - it has a knuckle that is seriously worn out. Are replacement available or does someone rebuild them? *Brake booster - are rebuild kits available? *Master cylinder - I need to get a new one. I've got a kit but once I took mine apart it just looks like hell all over. I'd like to get a sparkling new unit - brakes are really important. Thanks for any help! Ron

Ron 13753 had a steering shaft U-joint which was in bad shape but I took it apart and pressed in new bronze bushings which I got from a mill supply house. Good as new and a lot cheaper! Tom

Lower steering u-joint is available from DMS, however, upper isn't If SCCA allows you to change master cylinder, go with a new TR6 unit. (except pricey at $200 from Moss) Mitch Ware 1974 Jensen Healey JH5 #111119670 1971 Triumph TR6 #CC66950LO

the upper u-joints/top knuckle with new brass bushings is available from JHPS.com brakebooster and master cylinder can be easily bought new for very good price! Look for Triumph (TR 6) parts like Mitch said. The only difference with the TR 6 MC is that the reservoir bottle looks different, rest is the same. good luck erik Last edited on 11-28-2005 09:30 am by Harkes |

The JH brake booster is not the same as the TR6 unit though the latter may or may not bolt right in and work fine. The TR6 master cyl. is a direct bolt on and while it looks funny and sits at an odd angle, it works fine. You can get your booster rebuilt for about $100 at Partco. They did a great job on mine. Pay the extra charge for the powder coating, brake juice won't eat through it. Look in the tech area of this website for contact info.

Ron, I have a new TH6 master cyl. in stock. $ 219.95. I also may have the bits you need. I will check my parts bin at home. I also am ready to get rid of my parts car and spare engine. If you can use any of the parts let me know. You can have the parts car but I would like $100.00 for the engine. Keep'um Rolling, Jerry Anderson Hendrix Wire Wheel 336-852-8909

Hi Jerry, Do you have a home number I could contact you at? I might be in Burlington tomorrow (Sunday) and if you were receptive to the idea I'd pay you cash and pick up the parts. My home number is 919-233-9570 and email is rlearp@gt40s.com. Thanks Ron

Ron, I am sorry but I will not be avaliable today. My home phone # 336-288-3626 I have a brake booster and upper steering shaft. The booster came from the parts car with 30,000 miles. It may be OK. The steering shaft is tight but in used codition. Jerry

Hey Jerry, I'll give a call Monday. Already went up and back today, visiting family in the hospital but I will be back later this week. I can use any boosters, engine ,and shaft. My shaft is not, I don't think, rebuildable. It might have a crack in the bushing housing but I've not looked at it in strong light to be sure, all I know is I want another. Loosing steering at 100+ on the track would not be cool. Ron
