Hi all, I have a right hand drive jensen healey and I have a 912 motor. I understand that there are issues getting a 912 to fit, but can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction to achieving this. I understand that there has been discussion previously regarding this, I understand that Greg had completed a successful conversion many years ago in the UK. Any help will be appreciated.

The 912 uses the same 'block' as the 907, but the lower Main Bearing Panel (MBP) is wider in order to increase the overall stiffness of the block assembly. That extra width means the front-right corner of the block-assembly interferes with the chassis crossmember. In order to fit the engine in the car, it's necessary to notch-weld the chassis to create the required clearance. Regards, Tim Engel

I've tried multiple times to post a photo of the notch, but the system won't allow it. Is that a new 'thing'... no photos? It's a 62kb JPEG, so well below the 102kb limit. Tim Last edited on 08-08-2023 04:49 am by Esprit2 |

Hi Tim and thanks for the reply. I have a Right Hand drive car, is this the only issue you are aware of for a RHD? Tim, is it possible to send the picture to my email address? Cheers

Oh, I'm sure there will be a number of little things to address, but this is the big one. Sure, I can send the photo to your email address, just get the address to me. Tim Last edited on 08-12-2023 02:08 am by Esprit2 |
