I am looking for a 2 piece exhaust manifold. So the plate that mounts the manifold pipes to the cylinder head would be split in two. The stock manifold (the one currently on my vehicle) is a single piece manifold. Can anyone help. Thanks. |

Dont believe I have seen a JH two piece, Lotus might use one but not sure it would clear the steering shaft on a JH. Dave Bean sell a SS one that probably is differant than Delta's you might want to ask them. Brett. |

The header has no room to come off for be put back. It needs to be cut off and the only way to put one back on is use the two piece or remove the motor. Late yesterday I got a call from Carl for a shop,in Alabama called Paeco. They manufacture all sorts of stuff and have been making these 2 piece headers for 40 years. So it looks like my problem is solved, will get the new one in 6 weeks. 350$. Their number is 205 823 7278. Thanks. David. 415 796 2434. |

Please post a picture of the header when you get it, would be nice to see what it looks like. As for putting the normal header on while the engine is in place, yes it is a difficult job but doable, tilting the engine, having the steering shaft out and being a contortionist. Brett |

Ah see! I suppose Its easier on UK cars as the steering is on the other side. |

I have a 2 piece header thats on my 1974 that is now a Parts Car......I originally purchased the header from either RD or Delta 30 years ago. That engine is on my shop floor and therefore the header is available. Not sure if i still have the y-pipe. You are correct the install is much easier.....can be done with the engine still on its mounts....disconnect the steering universals and rack bolts....slide the rack a bit to remove the steering shaft for clearance.....did it once on a city street.....lol ......PM me interested. |

Thanks. I took the plunge and ordered the new one. Looking forward to some more power and less noise. I wish I could do the city street thing and better still a shop. Cheers. |

The 4 into 1 header I have is really loud. I ended up fitting a sleeve inside the collector to reduce the booming. It connects to a resonator and then a muffler before the axle. There's another muffler out back with resonator tips. I can finally drive without ear plugs. |

Every month or so. I won't be doing much for the next few months due to eye surgery. Hope to be back in action mid April. Remember Cars 'N Biscotti the first Saturday of each month at Poggio's in Sausalito and Cars and Coffee the first Sundays at Starbucks in the Vintage Oaks Mall, Novato, ca. |
