On my 5 speed transmission, when you put it into reverse, 2nd, or 4th, the gearshift pushes the whole center console forwards. Is there a way to get rid of this? Or is this how they came?

It sounds like either your console isn't in the correct position or the shifter bushings are terribly sloppy.

First, you have to be certain that the console is secured to the sheetmetal of The rear shelf. There is a small metal tab at the rear of the console where two small screws attach it to the shelf. Without this fixation, the console can easily move fore and aft. YELODOG
