I have till Monday to buy an engine and 5 speed transmission with non leaking gas tank and radiator fan shroud, fuel pump, oil cooler.
The stuff was in a JH that is now getting a small block.
The seller said the number four plug blows out of the head, and he took the top end of the five speed for his modified tranny. He wants 1100.00 for the lot.
I am definitely a newby as for as available parts for these vehicles and would love some advice.
I might mention my wife's free advice but I bet everyone can guess that.

If the engine and transmission were whole then maybe it would be worth 1100. Even then I believe that it is a stretch. Does your current car have a 5-speed? If it does and you can get tranny for 300 or less, it may be good to have for parts. The 5 speed parts are hard to come by.

I agree with Arvin. One of the mistakes I made was buying used, take off parts that I didn't really need. Now I have half a garage full and they have little value.

By the way, I wish I had asked this question three weeks ago as I now have another car for parts. Somebody needs to help me.

Where are you located? You never know what parts someone (like me) might need. I'm kind of like Tim in that I have an attic full of parts, of course not the ones I need.

A bit far for me, but we have quite a few members down your way. Someone closer might be able to help you clear things out.

Thanks for the help.
I think I have worked a deal for the transmission.
