All, I am new to the JHPS Boards. I have a question about exterior trim. My JH-5 has trim on the door and front/rear quarter panel. I have been told this is not stock. Adding fuel to the fire, I can't find any pictures of this particular trim arrangement on any JH-5 pictures on the web. Is this stock? I am prepping this car for paint. I really don't like the trim and would love to remove it and paint over this area, but I don't want to remove something unique. Thanks for any input. This site is great! It is not stock and was either installed by the dealer or a previous owner. You can remove it before paint and not feel bad about it being gone. If you check some other pictures you will see the location is a little different also. That trim is available at most auto type stores. Art

Thanks Art! It is off the car and won't be going back on.

In fact, the plastic 'coach line' was introduced on the MK2 Jensen-Healey among several other items in an attempt to brighten up the car. These include the finishing strips on the hood and around the turn lights. As far as I am aware the coach line continued with the 5 speed.
