11040 Jan 17, 1973 B7212-1191 It’s white! It runs! It drives! In the process of being restored. It came from California and is now in Austin, Texas. It also has this sticker above the VIN tag "P&J 3765-0010". Possibly a dealer inventory thing? 11142 Jan 24, 1973 Parts car that donated a lot of parts to the above car. Not sure what the PO did with the car but I have the VIN tag among other parts so I’m guessing the car itself is no more. B7406-7743 Spare engine.

Do you still have the vin tag for the Jan. 24 1973? My wife was born on that date. Our Vin is 15111 Last edited on 07-29-2011 10:07 pm by bbowker1997 |

I'm the new kid here but here you are. I inherited a lovely JH-5 from my mom, who passed away in April. The car was her pride and joy, and she kept everything absolutely stock. I'm not sure where to find the engine number, will be happy to add that as soon as I find it, but it is the original Lotus 907 with the Strombergs. Dad tried putting Webbers on it, but Mom didn't like how they sounded. The car hasn't been run in over a decade, but Dad did take the time to oil everything for storage, so prospects are good for revival as it was running when he stored it. VIN#20476 Manufacture date: 7/14/1975 Engine # *unknown at this time* Blue with black interior, has hard top, soft top still at my dad's house located in Antioch, CA I have photos both from 1985, when my mom was still driving it, and current. It is in need of TLC, which I intend to apply liberally in memory of my mom. She would be happy to see her beloved Jensen back on the road.

Welcome! Great to hear about another JH in the SF Bay Area! If you have any questions or comments you will probably get responses from all over the world. If you post some photos in the Photo Gallery, send us a link. We would love to see her. Kurt JH 13148

Have posted photos, both old and new. It will be a lot of work, but I'm willing. I am incredibly grateful that Mom kept everything stock like she did. I think it makes the car an even better candidate for revival, and restoration. I am so looking forward to driving it! http://jhppg.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=40374

Hello everyone! I am also new to the forum but I am now the proud owner of 74 J-H s/n: 15800. We got her at auction in Auburn about a month ago. Shes special since it's my first classic and both my uncle and father owned red ones when they were new. Pics here....more to follow! ;) ~ Nick http://jhppg.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=40341

Welcome Nick! Your car looks great! The radiator isn't stock. Any idea what car it comes from? Kurt

It's an older restoration (2002) but still holding up well. I have no clue what the radiator is from......I thought it was stock. Wow, I had no idea, It does still run hot, especially at idle.....not too bad though. My Uncle said they used to just take the thermostat out back in the day.

Welcome Nick, Though, if that's your Honda in the garage shot, then the J-H is not your first classic. I make the Honda a 150 and at least 10 years older than your J-H.

You might want to check the temperature with an in-fared thermometer. My Jensen was showing a hot temperature but was only running at 160 degrees. The sender was bad. Just a thought. Ron Mau 16367

I bought my 1975 JH-5 from my dad, Scott Jarvis (garaged in Auburn, California) in August of 2011. My dad owned it for at least 15 years. He bought it from someone in the Bay Area. Chassis/VIN# is 1110/20465 and Engine # is T75.02.11356. The car is now garaged and registered in in Portland Oregon. I contacted Richard Calver and he gave me the following information: "20465... was Saba Blue originally with Tan trim, no options listed at the factory. It was passed off the line on 1 August 1975 - this fits with the date you see on the tag which reads in the English manner as 8 July 1975" and "The car was indeed sold by Qvale's BMCD. It was actually put out initially as a lease car through his lease arm, BMC Leasing, 440 East Shields Ave, Fresno, CA 93704." Working on a daily driver restoration. Plan to have lots fun in the limited NW sun! Jeff Jarvis 20465

Hi Folks, new owner here in Christchurch, New Zealand. 1140 / 10313 - early Mk.1 with the single door lock. It's been a race car for 20+ years. Engine's a replacement Lotus part, as far as I can tell, it's just got a date code ( BD9077810 ), and no serial at all! It's been unused for about 10 years, and runs on twin 45 dellortos, which are rather loud due to the complete lack of air filters! According to Richard Calver, it was originally yellow, but it's currently silver. This will be a long term rebuild project, keeping it on the road as much as possible. First thing I need to know is the size of the 6 bolts that hold the soft top on!
