None of my notes have the measurements for that specific bolt. I do know that it's the exact same one as the one that holds the windshield wiper motor under the dash.

If noone else chimes in I'll bring one to Ace and measure it on my next trip.

Thanks for that. At the moment I've got a home made hard top on it, and I really don't like it. If there are any patterns for a tonneau cover, I'll give that a go as well.

PS. It's 1/4" UNF.

Jensen GT 30224, Still in cleanup, replacing brake system and fuel system.   6815 Miles! Interior like new with Paisley inserts.

Yep, it's original!  I think there were about 18 made with that interior option.  I thought exactly the same thing when I saw it for sale.  I've gotten used to it and I actually kind of like it!

Hello everyone.  Despairing of ever getting my Interceptor on the road and regretting selling my JH5,  I purchsed a GT (VIN 30242).  Needed a little work to make roadworthy, but rust free (from AZ) and now ready for summer driving (I hope).  Its a metallic green with o.k. paint job, looks good from a few feet, but has some runs and overspray.  It is really nice to work on a car from a salt free zone - all the old nuts and bolts just come apart like they're supposed to! 
 
Hope to post pics soon.  Thanks to Greg and all the posters for your past help and I hope to get the car to  2012 Jensen East.

Brett Gibson overhauled the Carbs, fuel system, Tuned the engine, fixed some light rust and overhauled the electrical system with such detail it works like new! Thank You Brett!

Yes, its called a Vintage Air Generation II mini system. It works great. When my factory air was not working, I took it to the airconditioning shop and this looked like my best option.
Option 1- Replace the entire system with NOS parts from Rejen in england or Option 2 - Replace entire system with vintage air system.
Both systems cost about the same but the advantage of the Vintage air system is the air conditioning will blow ice chunks in your face with plenty of air movement and power where the original system can barely cool the car.
The system replaces EVERYTHING under the dash and in the engine compartment. It handles heat, and defrost as well
Here's the process the pros did...they have installed 100's of these systems:

1) Remove the compressor, hoses, temp switch, evaporator/drier and big black thing in the engine compartment next to the firewall.
2) remove dash and send to madera to refinish.... they will also modify the center dash to accept the new control panel and cover unused switches.
3) rip out the dash hoses and the airconditioning/heater box.
4) cut out small area of the firewall and set up new unit with the mounting bracket..... install vintage air dash hoses and new vents when the dashcomes back from madera
5)install new compressor, hoses,drier, evaporator.... seal up hole with new steel where big black thing was as it is no longer needed.
6) the pros recommended I install an electric fan in addition to the engine driven fan.
7) adjust the servos ..... they electronically move the dampners....no more cables or levers.

seems to work great! I have a bunch of pictures documenting the entire process which i can send to you if are interested.

Actually the second car off the line, following the Geneva Show car. It was the first Press Car and featured in the Autocar road test of August '72

Presssed the wrong button while on Ebay!
Seriously, I had been looking for it for a while and then someone told me it was on Ebay, this was in 2005. I had used the car at the factory when it was not out with the press, and then sold it to my uncle in 1973. He sold it on fairly quickly, claiming he was constantly being persued by the police for speeding! History shows about 12 other owners and it was in a dreadful state when I bought it. I will write the story when it is finished, which should be sometime this summer. Bodywork is practically done and is painted, just a few panels to fit at the front, engine etc in but not connected up, front and rear suspension restored with Spax and poly bushes. So not much more to do? Took me all this morning to fit one door handle! But I did take time to make a template for the gasket that fits between handle and door, making it out of pool lining material; or one who is naturally ham fisted, this has worked out quite well.
Unfortunately all the pics I have are too big to show here, that is until I can find a way.

Update on my cars from a post from 2006. Has it really been that long?

12768 is still here.

17500 was stripped of all usable parts and the rusted out chassis was recycled.

19658 is still under going a complete restoration but at least I am now putting it back together while making some modifications and updates.

30395 - A Jensen GT, ended up being rusted too far to be worth fixing up so I removed all the usable parts and scrapped the body.

14539 was recently purchased and currently getting cleaned up and fixed.

The last owner decided he wanted to put a Ford 4 cylinder in and then lost interest. He sold the engine and trans. In order to accommodate the Ford engine he modified the front crossmember engine mounts and made a few other small modifications. Effectively making the crossmember useless for the 907 engine. Plus he took a perfect hood and cut a big hole in it, making that useless also. Otherwise the car is in good shape.

The plan is to take the engine, 5-speed trans and front suspension from 19658 and get a running car. Hopefully within a few months, since it is summer here in Arizona and the car is outside. Though it is under some shade cloth as I work on it. So it isn't too bad as long as I work in the early morning. Like before 9:00 AM.

Howdy everyone... a new club member here.  This weekend I took possession of JH 16173.  It's at home so I don't have the engine number handy.  Looking forward to the trials and tribulations of bringing her back to a respected status. 

It's a 1974 MkII, must be early from what I've been able to figure out (has the stainless trim over the bumpers and the rounded headlight pods).  Red (which has at least been oversprayed in spots if not completely repainted, you can see it on the plate on the drivers door in the photo) with a tan interior.  She runs OK, drives OK, and isn't in horrible shape (actually looks great from a distance) but needs the usual floor and rocker work.   The interior is in great shape, not a rip or tear anywhere, which makes me wonder if it's not original.  The convertible top has been replaced fairly recently and the seller also had the factory hardtop, original JH owners manual (complete with foldout wiring diagram inside the back cover), shop manual, and all the receipts from the past 10 years or so.  I'm feeling pretty good about her.
