I just purchased this 1973 Moss Green Jensen Healey. I have no history on the car other than the most recent owner (past 10 years )from Rockford Illinois.

the reason I am trying to find the history of this car is it is the identical car to a car my Big Brother owned from 1975-1983 that he sold to we believe Jensen enthusiast in Madison Wisconsin. Problem is we cannot find any record of the VIN number!

I would really love any information the club may have on this vin! if this is the actual car my Brother owned it would truly be a reunited family member!

My brother was in the Jensen healey club but not sure if there is anyway to track the car by his name?? since we do not have the vin.

so any one with any idea how to track thanks.

Hi there, and welcome to the JHPS! If you bought the car in Rockford (I've actually talked with John, the guy you bought it from, on Facebook) I assume you're somewhere in our general area (I'm up near Appleton, Wisconsin).

I shot off an email to Ric Calver, the official historian for all things Jensen http://www.richardcalver.com to see if he might have some information for you. I don't know if he keeps track of ownership records, probably not, but figured it was worth a shot. I did check the VIN database thread on this site and don't see it anywhere, so it doesn't sound like any previous owners of it were a member here.

You could try this, worth a shot (assuming it was titled in Wisconsin at some point:
https://trust.dot.state.wi.us/totl/totlservlet?whoami=totlp1

I ran my VIN and last name and got a result showing that I had titled it here. Not a lot to go on, but at least you can narrow it down geographically.

Congratulations on your purchase, though. That's a nice looking JH.

thanks Answerman!

I will try both suggestions.

I live in the Milwaukee area, so not far from Appleton.

Heard back from Ric, he said he can probably help you some. His email address is on his site that I linked above.

Let me know if you get up this way. Otherwise, I will be coming down with our British car club for the British Car Field Day show in Sussex on June 21. Get yours shined up and join the party... it would be nice if I wasn't the only JH in the show this year.

Doubling our numbers at the show! Fantastic!

They don't have a class for us JHers, so they stick us with the big Healeys. Not really fair, but what are you going to do? This was last year... it's pretty obvious which car is mine :-)

I heard back from Rick, he narrowed the car down to VIN 11453. so I am now on the hunt for that car as well

Answerman,

Looking at that picture you must have felt a bit like a turd in the punch bowl.
