I have been in contact with Konig Wheels. They have indicated to me that they would be willing to do a run of thier "Rewind " style of wheel in 15x7, 4x4", 0 offset for about $100 each(not minilites or panasports, but close). The catch is that they have to do a run of 80 wheels in this dimension. Shouldn't be hard right? 20 cars not a problem? Let me know If there is any interest. Also I am looking for a set of steel bumpers from a "73 or a early " 74, mine are not repairable.

FWIW, attached is a photo for this wheel, taken from their online catalog. Do they actually offer a choice in offsets, or is the 0" figure the only option? Last year I was quoted a price of $45 a wheel just to blast the paint off my JH's factory wheels. With that in mind, brand new 15" wheels at $100 each looks pretty attractive, if one is in the market for such things. However, I'm not familiar with Konig. Has anyone had experience with this brand? UPDATE: Meant to say 0" offset but was thinking backspace and managed to seriously confuse myself. Text above should now be correct. Me too, although I'm skeptical about the $100. Konig is a long established and respected mid-range brand. As I understand it, Panasports through Delta are an indefinite (and very long) wait at about twice the cost. I have been researching a run of adaptors to allow the use of more common wheels, but the best cost I could come up with for a production run of 40 in 4 x 100 was $50 each, so 4" x 4" PCD wheels are ultimately a less expensive (and simpler/lighter) way to get 15s. Could we make a short list of cool JH wheels in 15 x 7? i have seen this type of thread so often on the board.. I have also done some research, here is what i found that i thought was interesting for the JH. Brands: Panasport: http://www.panasport.com available through DMS and may be direct. The wheel: FS 15 x 7. Weight: anyone? Quality: high. Looks: fabulous. Konig: http://www.konigwheels.com. The wheel: Rewind 15 x 7 also available in silver. Weight: around 13.5 lbs (very light!) Quality: medium to high? Looks: good. Superlite: http://www.superlite-wheels.com. The wheel: Classic Range 15 x 7 also available in silver. Weight: 18.87 lbs. Quality: high. Looks: ok/good. one other unspoken top brand: Compomotive: http://www.comp.co.uk. The wheel: ML1570 (15 x 7) also available in silver. weight: anyone? Quality: high. Looks: fabulous (see picture attached) The Konig wheel looks good, is very light but that fact also raises questions regarding quality (strength), but it is also a lot cheaper and that counts too. The Panasports and the Compomotives both look equally fabulous and are both expensive but top quality. Anyone has other brands. Hello, I would certainly like a set. I do have some questions though: - is the $100 each a guaranteed price? - is the offset correct? - will the Jensen lug nuts work? - will there be any chassis/ fender interference? - expected date of completion? - made in USA? I did a Google search for "Konig Wheels" and among other things found a reference that a Miata driver had requested a special run for their vehicles and the price was about the same of $100 per wheel. There was a photo of one of the wheels in the shipping box. So I assume they had enough interest to to stamp them out for Miatas. PK-18849

At this point in time we have 5 possibles and 5 definites. We need at least 20 definites. I'll try to answer your questions as well as I can. Conical lug nuts fit the wheels, they are available from Konig. The wheels have a 4" backspace and 0 offset. As far as clearance, I really don't know I don't believe there will be any problems, "Jasper" has said that he is using 15" wheels with no problems. Delivery time from the receipt of the deposit is anywhere from 60 to 90 days. The deposit is 50% of the total order and the wheels, all of them, can be only shipped to one location. They will have to be distributed from there. The $100 is not etched in stone, however I don't think it will vary much from that figure. I don't have a clue what shipping would be, inbound to the distribution point or outbound to the owners. A best guess on the outbound freight is + - $60. Now the sticky part; how to handle the financial end. Any thoughts on this would appreciated. Rob

So what backspace and offset is found on the panasport wheels? Anybody? Who can state that they have experience whith wheels and/or tires that did not fit (interference), and what size were the offenders?

Jim, The stock offset is ~3/4"...my 6x13" Panasports had a measured offset of ~5/8". I would assume the 6x15 Panasports would have the same offset as the 6x13s. A 225/50R15 is about 0.8" wider than a 205/60R13...so the 7x15s need to have at least 0.4" less offset than the 6x13"Panasports in order to have the same inner clearance. If you have 205/60R13s on your car now, just measure outward about 1" and that should be where the outer edge of the 225/50R15s would be. Judson

My interest will probably go to a set of adaptors, if they're made in something like 4x100 the quantity of styles, size and brands of wheels is stagering. in the 4x100 format we can use 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and above sizes, from wire wheels to full moons and everything in between; that's the way I'll be leaning to; but that's just my opinion. Just my 2 cents: Wheel adaptors are not all created equal. In a perfect world, you would use only a very high quality, hub centric, adaptor that is custom made for your car and wheel- that is the adaptor bolts onto your existing 4" pattern and the new wheel fits the adaptor wheel center precisely, but almost every wheel is different inside, so you can't really get a hub centric fit until you know which wheel you are using. Plus, these are expensive. Just sticking on generic spacers is ill advised- you'd be much better off with a wheel that fits your bolt pattern to start with.

I am seeing lots of messages about adapters and spacers. It would require some amount of teardown but why not drill new stud holes on whatever bolt circle you desire? Just rotate the hub or axle about 30 degrees or so, (in the machine) indicate the center, step to the new coordinates and drill. The rear axle is OK but the front hubs would require a back spotface. This method would accomodate the stock studs or a different dia and any machine shop can do the job in 3-4 hrs. Tom - 13753

I too would be interested in some new wheels. Although, I think we should have these few questions cleared up first. The floating cost concerns me as well.
