Have seen a lot of discussion about going to 205/60 13s from the stock 185/70 13, and the fact that there is very little selection of rubber in the larger size.

Since I'm looking at buying a set of new Superlites anyway, what is the general consensus about putting on Superlite 14"s with 195/65 14 rubber? There is a lot of selection of rubber in that size, and the external size of them is absoultely identical to the stock 185/70 13.

Pack Performance (now VTO Performance) has the 14" Superlites with the correct bolt circle, offset & backspace for $165, and Tire Rack has 9 different tires in that size.

Feedback? Am I stupid?

Steve

I just put 14" Panasports and 195/60HR-14 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires on my car a few weeks ago. I was amazed at how nicely it rode compared to the 205/50-13 Sumitomos that were on it.

Looks far better and rides better.

Hi Steve,

I'm quite happy with my 15" 205/50 setup.  Wheels are 15x6 Compomotive ML, and the rolling diameter is about 0.4% different from stock.

That being said, I'm sure the 14" 195/65 will give a softer ride.

I have Superlite 14" wheels with 205/60 Falken tires.  I have had them for about 3 years and worn out one set of tires (hi-way and autocross).  Major improvement in the handling and appearance.  They are well worth the money if you really want to drive your car.

Hi Mitch, Arven
do you both have a picture of your JH with the 14" panasports? Can't wait to see it.
any reason why you both choose 14 over 15"?

thanks
Erik
