Hello everyone...I am a new JH owner, very excited about being the proud owner of 17184. Can anyone assist with how to remove the console so as to access the parking brake adjustment? Thanks for your help. Gordon |

You shouldn't have to remove the console to adjust the parking brake. To remove the console there are 2 small screws at the very back under the carpet. They are hidden until you move the carpet an might be rusted. Theother screws are located by the shift lever. On mine I had to lift up at the back and then pull towards the rear of thecar for it to come out. The parking brake cable and adjustment is under the car. The cable comes from the hand brake from inside the tunnel and goes through part of a frame rail and attaches to a clip on the rear drivers side brake. There is a threaded rod that this clip screws onto. |
