What were the original colors and finishes on areas such as suspension, undercarriage, inner hood, trunk and engine bay. Were they black or body color and were they gloss, semi-gloss, etc. I am trying to keep it as original as possible. I have yellow sway bars on my JH, I assume they were add-ons thanks, Brian Corbett |

From what I've seen, most undercarriage parts were painted semi-gloss black. Original paint workmanship was indifferent at best, and when they bothered to apply primer, it was done poorly. There were, of course, exceptions. I'd imagine that any modern solvent-based semi-gloss black and a compatible red primer would match the original appearance. |
