Can anyone tell me what the small green light is for that sits at the 2 o'clock position in the recess for the oil pressure gauge? It stays on while the car is running.

Opinions differ, but the story I have heard (or read on the old board) is that the light is a Department of Transportation safety requirement, or in reality, Jensen's response to a regulation, that being to illuminate the steering column lock.  Kind of klutzy if true, but I've seen worse.

This must only apply to right hand drive cars as it's on the wrong side in this country. Thanks.

While Greg's explanation certainly is a charming one, Jim's explanation is closer to the truth.  In fact it is present to satisfy a US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requirement to illuminate the Hazard switch.  I've seen a copy of the regulation, courtesy of Jensen owner Bill Spohn ( WSpohn4@aol.com ).

If memory serves (and assuming that I've read the parts list correctly), for European LHD cars the hole was closed off with a small plastic plug, and is not present at all in RHD cars.
