I ended up taking out the pedal box as part of cleaning up the braking system, and right next to it was this bracket. Just hanging out, acting like it belonged. Not supporting or connecting anything, living the good life.

what connects here on more complete cars? Kinda looks like a top engine mount. I did a few image searches but didn't end up finding much, and there is some F1 to watch so lazyness dictates I turn to those more knowledgeable.

And wow, the images have to be shrunk way down - going to have to figure out how to host them somewhere else.

That's the support for the "frame" side of the engine dampener, which you are missing. The other end of the dampener attached to another steel structure that was attached on the top 2 bolts that held the transmission to the engine block. Many of the dampeners "froze" up so the dampener would not move and would crack the firewall where your support is.

Got it, thank you. There isn't any firewall damage, so hopefully delta will have a replacement part.

Tim, did you modify the bracket to take a different damper?

No, I didn't make one at all. The photo I posted was a replacement kit that used to be offered by "Pete's Kits". I just offered it as an example. Pete was an owner who made & sold several useful replacement J-H parts. Sadly, he passed.
