I'm in the process of stripping paint and doing bodywork in preparation for paint. I removed the lower front valence and found it to be banged up, road rashed and rusty from rocks and road sandblasting over the years. My question, has anyone tried applying any type of finish or some kind of clear wrap to prevent this?

I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind but maybe you can review 3M Body Schutz Rubberized Coating.

Is this what you use on your rockers?

Rockers, fender wells, under car ... it's black but can be painted.
