Just found this place. Maybe it's old news to some of you but it was new, welcomed news to me: http://www.JustDashes.com. A nice video shows the process. Probably expensive but it looks like they do a nice job. Thankfully I don't need one now but someday I might. I hope they're still there when I do.

John,
Thanks for the link - my 19451 came with lots of splits and curls on the dash pad and I had just figured on going with a dash cap. I just called them and the quote was $800 plus shipping with a turn around time of 10-12 weeks. It does look like a nice result but it's a little more than I'd be willing to spend. Then again...

I figured it would be expensive. I hope I don't need one any time soon. I have a dash pad. I use it when my car is parked outside (not very often) under those hot, dry Nevada skis.

Just a quick update...I recently called these folks and the price is now up to $1200... I'm working with a local shop to have mine recovered in black leather so will see how that comes out.
