Does anybody have recommendations for a wood steering wheel for my JH? I understand I need a adapter kit as well. I called delta and they are out. |

Try Moto Lita in the UK - they are expensive but absolutely top quality I have the leather one on My GT on which the cowl shroud needed to be modified slightly they are intended for the JH. Comes with all the bits you need to install. https://www.moto-lita.co.uk/our-products/your-car/Wheel_Details.aspx?CR_ID=154&CB_ID=18&WH_ID=3 Gordon |

I know this is an old subject, however I have wanted to change out my cracked original steering wheel but did not wish to pay the price for the adaptor, as I have already invested far more than ever anticipated in this car. After much research, I found that the Grant adapter number 3597 fits perfect. Contrary to what I have read everywhere, I can not find a single adapter for an old GM that fit my 5/8" shaft. The 3597 fits older Mazdas, and a couple Fords and cost me $24.00 at Pep Boys. I ordered a 15" wood walnut wheel from Grant off Amazon for $125.00 and it looks great to me. |

Thanks for the update. I have been wondering about how to get an adapter and have seen one on Ebay for $200! |

Glad I could help, Grant is a much more resonable approach for a steering wheel and you can get it at any Pep Boyd. They happened to have it in stock at the Simi Valley store, but even if they need to order it, no big deal. Best regards! |

Tried to post a picture, but I get a message telling me that the file is too big, only one photo do I do not know what is wrong. I can tell you it has no emblem, simply a plain chrome plate, actually looks quite good for an inexpensive wheel |

You need to host your photos at a service like Photobucket which creates "img" tags. Then paste the tag into your post. I'm not an expert on the nuances of photo hosting, but learned to get it working from Subwoofer. Perhaps he will be so kind as to start a thread with instructions. Kurt |

You can use an app like PIXresizer to make the pic small enough to post on this forum. You can find it by doing a search for the name and its free!! cheers, Dan |

Here is an example of a reduced pic of my dash and wheel. Not sure of the adapter or wheel source as it was installed by the PO. Attachment: DSC_1099 (600 x 397).jpg (Downloaded 126 times) Last edited on 02-25-2017 02:54 am by dbeliveau74 |

I too started with the 3597 adapter, but since I wanted a Nardi wheel (same as Momo bolt pattern) I flipped it over so it wouldn't travel too far down the shaft, peeled off the useless copper horn contact panel, drilled two holes for grub screws to activate the turn signal reset. Then the fun began. To get enough depth for the steering shaft I had to use a 1" Chinese adapter which had the wrong bolt pattern (Forever Sharp) and a .5" adapter which could have gone from Grant to Nardi, cut out its center and countersunk the Forever Sharp bolt pattern to take 5mm allen screws. See attached pix. Total price $24+$14+$12 all on eBay, plus a couple of bucks for screws. Now the Nardi wheel fits and everything works like it is supposed to. Horn on the left column lever was actually an advantage in this situation.
