I bought replacement seat belts from Wescoperformance.com. A little expensive $74.90 each plus shipping but they fit like original equipment. I took off the latch and put on the Jensen shoulder belt turn around piece. Order the WELR-N for roadsters.http://www.westcoperformance.com

Thanks for the link Adam, You've got to take the "t" out to get to the right site http://www.wescoperformance.com Replacing the seat belts is on my list of "to do's". I wonder how these compare with the more expensive ones that Delta sells? Any one care to comment? Brian.

I'm pretty sure my original seat belts are no longer of any use. I don't think that the belts will lock under any condition. What I want to save from the original belts are the two parts of the latch. That is, the female part attached to the transmission tunnel and the male part that latches into it. The female part has the "H" on it, and the male part matches the original key in style, so I'd like to retain them. With the replacement belts, did I understand correctly that you were able to retain these parts from the original? Thanks, Ken

Apparently it's getting difficult to find firms that will re-web seat belts, presumably because of liability issues. I found two sources in the SOL 'Monster List' that apparently still do this. I have neither previously heard of, nor done business with, either firm. You understood correctly. You can use the old hardware and the new belt and retractor. Getting the new buckle off takes a little effort but it is doable. Adam

Adam, Did you have to remove the belt from the reel in order to remove the new buckle and replace it with the old one? I don't see any other way to do it, but I'd like to be wrong. Thanks, Ken

After purchasing the Wesco Performance #WELR-N selt belts, I found they did not fit my 1973 Jensen Healey properly. I contacted Wesco and they suggested using the #I-3207 belts at web page: http://www.wescoperformance.com/i-3207-retractable-install.htm The #I-3207 belts fit perfectly. Unlike the #WELR-N belts, these have a sash guide. The belt retractor mounts at the bottom of the wheel well and the sash guide mounts at the top of the wheel well. See attached photo. When removing the original buckles on the inboard side of the bucket seats, I cut the two wires going to each buckle so the seat belt light on the dash board no longer works. You can use your existing mounting bolts or order Wesco's harware kit which contains new bolts, shoulder bolts, nuts, lockwashers and large washers and bracket. Since the Jensen Healey has mounting points for the belts, the large washers, lockwashers, bracket and nuts are not used. Ed San Jose, CA Attachment: selt-belt.JPG (Downloaded 144 times)
