I went to "pop" the bonnet today and it was a little stiff so I gave it a good tug and the "T" handle comes off in my hand. Has this happened to anyone else out there? Can the handle be reattached (epoxy?) or is a new cable necessary? Thanks.. |

OK..the "fix is in", or so it seems. Talked to Jeff at Delta and this is not an uncommon experience. A dab of epoxy in the handle orifice, slightly hammerd back on to the grooved extension of the cable and 24 hours later, back in business. I also took advantage of the opportunity to lube the entire length of the cable in the sheath (one must remove the cable first,of course). Love these cars! Jim, I have not used the cable in years to open the bonnet, the one time I did I ended up scrapping my knuckles pretty good, since then I just reach under the bumper and release it that way. Glad to hear yours works better than mine. Brett |
