Early this spring I parted out a 74 that I pulled out of a local salvage yard. The windshield was in good shape so I kept it as a spare. Now I notice that it is tinted green (Triplex). The windshield in my 73 is not tinted. I’ve been considering swapping them out but am not that sure it is worth the effort. Is anyone out there running with a tinted windscreen that had a clear one? Is tinted more desirable? I realize there is no right or wrong answer here. I’m just looking for some opinions to help me decide. Thanks, Brian

Brian, at $300 plus shipping which aint cheap either, I would just hold on to what you have, I'm running a tinted that I had to travel 250 miles to get just to avoid the shipping and I dont think it add's much to the out look especialy with the top down most of the time. PS: there a bear to install and remove, hate to see you bust one. Brett.

Hello Brett, Thanks for the reply. The trick to getting windshields out is to cut the sealant with a long knife and jam wood shims in (Home Depot, cedar shims, $2) as you go. The sealant heals itself so sticking the shims in keeps the wind screen out away from the frame and out of the sealant as you cut along the perimeter.
