When I say 'Movie' what I realy mean is DOCUMENTARY - I am in final pre-production on a film all about our beloved cars -

Filming will begin in May and will continue through till mid June - mostly Weekends.

I am looking for local So Cal Jensen Healeys and there owners who would like to have there vehicles included in this film.

If you are interested in being part of this production please email me with your vehicle info, and contact information. This is likely to be a one-off film experience so if you'd like your car to be immortalized on film now's your chance -

Please don't ask to get paid - this will be a freebie - although everyone who participates will get a full 'special thanks' credit at the end of the film in the credits and you will also recieve a special 'free' copy of the completed film on DVD (for you to show off to all your friends with!!)

I promise that this will be a lot of fun - myself and my film crew will treat you and your cars with the uttermost respect and care.

We are also planning a trip out to Arizona to film the fabulous 'DELTA MOTORSPORTS' and all that it encompasses as a bonus feature for the DVD - so if you are located anywhere near Pheonix or on the way between Los Angeles and Phoenix - let me know and we'll stop by and film your Jensen Healey.

This promises to be a great film - the first and probably the last all about the Jensen Healey so if you'd like to be a part of it let me know -

I can be emailed at :

carpediemfilms@pacbell.net or called at 661 799 5980

Thanx - and I'll keep you posted on this thread as to our location and shooting scheduals.

Exec. Producer Carpediem Films

Thank you for you emails - and interest in being part of this filmed Jensen Healey production -

I'm interested in hearing from those of you out there with an opinion -

What would you like to see in this film - ?

Driving footage from all angles,?
Racing footage old and new - if we can get it......?
Interviews with owners - and there cars....?
A trip to Delta Motorsports ......?
Performance upgrades - engine mods etc etc

This list is endless but I'd love some feedback from future viewers of this DVD movie as to what you realy like to see on the big screen !

Please post your replies here for all to view and discuss.

Cheers - James

I'll be able to give you some current in car racing footage. I'll be racing the JH in SCCA Improved Touring S class, the highest Improved Touring class, and hopefuly the JH first outing will be May 31st at CMP in South Carolina. 2.X mile road course and I'll have a in-car video camera for the races that weekend, wheel to wheel action with lots of other cars of various types.

If you want an idea of what these movies look like you can go here:

http://www.gt40s.com/images/Z/

And then click on Z_Car.mov, a Quicktime movie. HINT- if you "Right Click" and then "Save As" you can open it later and make it larger.  This will help as the native size is small right now, but still 3 meg.

I run http://www.gt40s.com and have some in car footage of me driving my 260Z on the road course at VIR.  This little bit was spliced together of bits from the same 45 minute race.  I'm a rookie too, but learning!!!!! In the movie you'll see the 39 Miata driven by my partner for a brief instant and you'll see two cars go off behind me in the silver Z, two second Gen RX7s that for some reason tried to get around me but lost it.

We think the JH is going to give up some top end to the Z due to power and aero, but the light weight should pay off in the twisty bits and braking. We hope.

Ron

Looks like I'm going to be in the UK for a family visit in June for about 10 days.

This will make for a excellent opportunity to add to the Jensen Healey fim footage by filming some UK based cars and there owners.

If any of you Jensen Healey owners (UK based) would like to have your cars filmed for the movie please post your contact info here or email me at
jhbema@pacbell.net or carpediemfilms@pacbell.net

lookforward to hearing from you -

regards

James

James,
If there's anything I can do to help please don't hesitate to let me know. Does the crew need T-shirts?
Regards,
Wayne McCartney

I will be in the UK filming Jensen Healeys between May 28th and June 11th.

I also will be attending the Jensen International Meet in Nottingham on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of June (also to film) the cars and interview some British owners !

It'll hopefully make for some excellent additional footage for the film / DVD.

Sunday the 5th of June at the Jensen International Meet is the Concourse day so I will definately be there for that -

If you are planning on being at the event with your Jensen Healey please drop me an email.

Looking forward to seing some fellow Brits and Jensens in June.

All the best

James

Sorry for not posting any updates -
I recently completed the 'car' driving portion of the film and am happy to say it looks great -

My film crew spent 2 days filming my car from every possible angle being driven (hard) on some California back country mountain roads.

I still want/need to film at West Coast Racing to get some 'engine building footage' and custom head work stuff -

other than that I am officially in Post production and editing the whole project together - due to the amount of interviews and footage which I have it is likely that the film will probably end up as a 2 disc DVD set.

Stay tuned - I hope to have it finished by Easter 2006.

regards

James

The film / documentary is finishing up nicely - eta for completion is the end of April.

As soon as it is complete I expect I'll send along a copy to Greg Fletcher to view and comment on - perhaps we'll even see a review of the film in the club magazine for May -

Stay tuned we've all waited this long for a movie about our cars .....

this ones been 30+ years in the making !!

regards

James

The final sales price hasn't been established - nor have I figured out a deal where by the JHPS could profit from selling the DVD -

It all depends upon the demand for the film once completed -

There are approx. 600 club members arround the world and if I sell 250 copies of the film at $20each I should recoup my capital investment in making the film.

The point is I didn't ever expect this film to be a big seller or for it to even make any money - but I would at least like to try and get some of my money back - that way I can go make another movie !! Or at least that's the idea.....

Fingers crossed the film will be well recieved - it'll certainly be unique -

regards to all

James

It's an uphill battle - film editing - just time consuming -

But it's all coming together nicely and looks great so I'm happy -

I'm also having some original music composed for it right now and desiging graphics etc -

patience.......patience......
