That's why I came up with these fasteners. While it doesn't solve the problem of the outer weather strip (I've not needed to look into that yet, maybe in a couple months). If you look into the artile, the metal pieces will work to hold down the rear trim as well as the upper door trim. It's a little tricky getting the nut up in the door, but it works well.
