On the engine side of the fire wall, remove the two heater hoses from the heater core barbs and splice them together. You can find a metal hose barb splice at a hardware or home depot type store. Not certain of the hose id. You might also consider new hose clamps. This will completely bypass the heater core without issue until you decide if you actually want to remove and repair the heater core.
