Normally that function is handled by a set of contacts within the starter solenoid. There should be a white-yellow wire from the solenoid that runs to (a) one end of the ballast and (b) to the [+] terminal on the coil. The solenoid's function here can be tested by unplugging the wire from the ballast and seeing if +12 volts appears on the wire end during cranking. If not, and if the wiring is properly in place, then the solenoid would seem at fault. Attachment: solenoid wiring.jpg (Downloaded 55 times)
