I know this is an old post but personally what I do with my motorcycles when the engines have not been started in a while is just to hit the kill switch and turn over the engine with the starter motor until the low oil pressure light goes out and the turn the kill switch to run and start.
I alway do this with a rebuilt motor too, usually by pulling the coil HT lead.
For someone who only uses their car 30 days a year an ignition spark kill switch would be a lot easier than a remote pump.
