Don, In the 13 years since the last post of this thread I don't think anything has changed. What you're looking for is a barrel spring that fits around the lock barrel, it has two tabs that point up and flair out. With a properly complete lock unit you push it through the deck lid hole and the tabs snap the unit into place. The barrel spring is usually what fails. You've got a couple of options, try to get a used one, Bruce(Red Racer)might have one or give British Masters a try. Also, as strange as it sounds there's a possibility you could find a new one through one of the small specialist shops in England. Rejen, for example does mainly interiors but they also do complete restorations and carry a lot of odd bits for Jensen-Healey.
