I believe that it could be done. IIRC when I dropped the car down on top of my front suspension with the engine/trans already on the crossmember there was enough play in the two top mounts that I was able to rotate the outriggers into place. I'd be sure to take the nuts off the top of the two mounts to avoid bending/breaking them. However, if you have trouble getting the old bushings out, or need to press the new bushings in, it would a tough task to do so with the crossmember under the car.
