Some of you may have already done so, but replacing our antiquated bimetallic voltage stabilizer with a solid state electronic one is inexpensive and worth it, now that our cars are over 40 years old.(I have seen many of them "bad"( usually from the poor contact between the sheet metal screw and the casing) Make one yourself or shop around, but MOSS has them at a very reasonable price.
