The JH ignition wiring can be a bit screwy....

There is a lead from the Tach that connects to the ballast resistor.  Juice goes through the resistor to the other end which is in turn attached to the (+) coil terminal.  The (-) coil terminal gets wired to the distributor.  That's the simple part...

Also attached to the ballast resistor is a wire going to the starter.  This is a shunt that provides +12V directly from the battery to the (+) end of the coil at start-up.  It is typically eliminated when an aftermarket ignition is installed.

Use the wiring diagram Delta sells and a VOM to trace everything down before you make your final connections.
