Mine uses 5/8" hose. Below is a pic of how they run. The hose going to the intake manifold is connected to the lower port on the heater, though I am not sure if this is standard or if it matters. It works OK as is. The loop in the vacuum line going to the control valve looks weird, but is the only way I could see to route it.
