Okey dokey. Here's my dilemma. The break is definately in the distributor itself. As I noted before, I was putting the clamp back on the distributor and broke the lip of the distributor by cranking down too hard. The clamp was a little out of shape and I wasn't paying attention. My question is - does the lip of the distributor lie flush to the oil pump and form a seal? (It wouldn't be a very good seal as it is metal to metal) If it does not, I should be able to use the dist as is. Just a 1/4 or so of the lip broke and I think I can still get it to stay tight in the clamp. If it works, I can at least get the old girl running while I'm trying to find another dist. Just a thought. Or, I could weld it ;-) .
